CFAM didn’t begin with a plan or a building. It began in the rubble of Haiti’s 2010 earthquake, with one young man who loved Jesus and wanted his neighbors to know Him.

The earthquake
A devastating earthquake strikes Haiti, killing more than 100,000 people. Rene Romil, already a believer, works with Baptist disaster relief teams. After work, he rides his motorcycle to surrounding towns, sharing the gospel through a megaphone.

A trusted leader
Romil becomes a trusted, effective leader. Pastors and churches visit Haiti, and he helps connect Haitian pastors with pastors in the United States.

A church and a school
Romil feels led to plant his first church and start a Christian school near Arcahaie. With support from Baptists on Mission and churches in the United States, CFAM is founded, land is bought, and construction begins.

Building the campus
CFAM completes the first stage of its building project: a church, six classrooms, housing for mission teams, and a wall around the property.

Today
Faithful in hard times
About 200 children attend the school, taught by nine full-time teachers, and receive a meal every school day. Romil encourages and supports local churches. Violence and hardship make every step harder, but the school stays open.
Equip. Educate. Grow.
CFAM exists to proclaim the gospel, plant churches, and build Christian schools for the glory of God in the nation of Haiti.
This founding mission shapes today’s work: Christian education, gospel ministry, and support for local churches.
